Overview Lantha is building the next generation of rapid chemical sensing technologies, powered by our proprietary material PCM-22. We're a fast-moving team of scientists and engineers who love turning unconventional chemistry into real, working devices - and we're looking for curious, creative thinkers who want their work to matter immediately. As a Chemist, you will report directly to the Chief Science Officer (CSO) and work closely with our growing R&D team in Austin, TX. WHAT YOU WILL DO

Synthesize and characterize small organic molecules and MOF materials Fabricate Lantha's patented testing consumables Evaluate the performance of MOF material using Lantha's patented test strips and portable fluorimeter Analyze experimental data and prepare clear reports and presentations. Produce small batches of test strips for new market customer evaluations R&D collaboration: problem solving, optimization, innovation, new applications, etc. Follow, review and help improve Standard Operating Procedures Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of analytical instruments

WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

Earned B.S. in Chemistry, Chemical/Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field 1-3 years of hands-on laboratory experience in an academic, internship, or industrial setting Working knowledge of core chemistry concepts, solution preparation, stoichiometry, lab safety, and good laboratory practices Synthetic (in)organic chemistry using pyrophoric chemicals and air-free technique Experience operating and troubleshooting common analytical instruments; familiarity with Karl Fischer titration, UV-Vis spectroscopy, or related techniques is beneficial, in addition to NMR, FTIR, SEM, BET, and PXRD Knowledge of fluorescence principles or hands-on experience with fluorimetry or fluorescence spectroscopy is a strong plus Exceptional attention to detail and strong documentation habits, including accurate laboratory records, traceable data, reproducible work, and adherence to SOPs Statistical analysis (e.g. linear regression, error analysis, calibration, etc.) Proactively identifies problems, investigates likely root causes, proposes practical solutions, and promptly communicates risks, roadblocks, and recommended next steps to a supervisor Clear written and verbal communication skills, a collaborative mindset, intellectual curiosity, and adaptability in a fast-moving R&D environment
