Senior Systems Test Engineer

The Senior Systems Testing/QA Specialist is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing comprehensive testing efforts for large-scale systems in both GUI and non-GUI environments. This role involves developing test strategies, creating and running automated and manual test scripts, coordinating defect management, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. The specialist collaborates with cross-functional teams to guarantee system quality, performance, and accessibility. Responsibilities:

• Advise on testing strategies, test plans, and selection of testing tools.
• Plan and organize testing efforts including system integration, functional, regression, stress, and user acceptance testing.
• Develop and execute test plans, test scripts, and test cases across various system components.
• Identify, document, and track software defects using tools like Azure DevOps.
• Collaborate with developers and project teams to reproduce and resolve issues.
• Create and maintain automated test scripts using tools such as Micro Focus UFT, Selenium, TestComplete, or Postman.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
• Conduct performance, load, and stress testing to validate system scalability.
• Ensure testing processes comply with Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and other regulations.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Maintain detailed documentation of test results, coverage, and quality metrics.
• Provide input for user manuals and release notes.

• Proven experience in system testing, including automated test script development and execution of complex test plans.
• Strong knowledge of functional, integration, regression, and acceptance testing.
• Experience with automated testing tools such as Selenium, Postman, SOAP UI, Swagger, Micro Focus UFT, or TestComplete.
• Proficiency in defect tracking and management using tools like Azure DevOps, JIRA, ALM, Bugzilla, TestRail, or Zephyr.
• Experience with database verification and backend testing using SQL in Oracle environments.
• Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies.
• Knowledge of software development and testing life cycles.
• Understanding of accessibility standards including AODA.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience conducting performance testing using tools like JMeter or LoadRunner.
• Ability to create and manage test data strategies ensuring data privacy and integrity.

• Experience with at least one programming language for test automation purposes.
• Knowledge of testing in object-oriented environments.
• Familiarity with health care data exchange standards, particularly FHIR.
• Experience testing Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) applications.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Bash.
• Experience conducting security testing and collaborating with security specialists.

• Position is onsite with a requirement to work 7.25 hours per day, Monday to Friday, between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM (excluding lunch breaks).
• Extensions permitted only within unused contract days and remaining contract funds; no additional funding beyond maximum contract value.
• Must adhere to organizational and regulatory standards including accessibility compliance.

• Standard weekday schedule: Monday through Friday, 7.25 hours per day during standard business hours (8:00 AM to 5:00 PM).
• Work performed onsite at designated office location.
