This is a broad role supporting senior leadership and multiple business functions, with significant exposure to corporate governance, commercial contracting, regulatory matters, M&A, risk management, technology, and compliance.This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with the business, taking ownership of varied legal matters, and serving as a practical, solutions-oriented legal advisor in a highly regulated environment.Role & ResponsibilitiesCorporate Governance: Advise on corporate governance matters, including Board resolutions, materials, and related legal matters.Regulatory: Support corporate regulatory filings, including Holding Company Act matters, and maintain regulatory relationships.Transactions / M&A: Support strategic transactions, including M&A, company-level transactions, legal due diligence, and assessment of legal risk.Commercial Contracts: Draft, review, and negotiate vendor and other corporate/commercial agreements.Vendor / Risk Management: Support vendor due diligence, risk management, and related operational initiatives.Financial / Audit: Review financial statement notes, management representation letters, audit materials, and other finance-related legal matters.Technology / Data Privacy / Cybersecurity: Advise on cybersecurity, data privacy, artificial intelligence, and emerging technology matters.Compliance: Develop and implement compliance programs, policies, and procedures.Business Partnership: Partner with Finance, Operations, Data, Analytics, Technology, and other business functions to provide practical, business-oriented legal guidance.Strategic / Operational: Take ownership of evolving legal responsibilities and support new initiatives as the business continues to grow.QualificationsJuris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Active bar membership in good standing.Approximately 5-15 years of relevant legal experience.Strong corporate generalist background across governance, contracts, regulatory, transactions, and operational matters.Compensation & BenefitsBase Salary: $200-275kBonus: 40-50% of base salaryUnlimited planned PTO80 hours of sick & safe time401(k) with 5% company matchCompany-paid short- and long-term disability and life insuranceCaregiver, maternity, paternity, and military leaveLocation & Work ModelFully RemoteEastern or Central Time Zone preferredMountain or Pacific Time may be considered for a highly self-directed candidateApproximately 1x per quarter travel for team strategy meetingsWhy This Role?Join a growing insurance organization during an exciting period of strategic expansion.
