Job Summary

Respiratory Therapist Registered, Pediatric Specialty, Templeton. Provides basic and critical respiratory care services for adult, geriatric, and pediatric patients with respiratory disease. The role includes respiratory assessments, therapeutic interventions, ventilator care, documentation, equipment management, and collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license in the state of practice; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification for intensive care unit (ICU) and/or emergency department (ED) practice; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification; at least 2 years of critical care experience, including experience attending deliveries and setting up bubble continuous positive airway pressure (BCPAP); experience providing Labor and Delivery and pediatric care.
• Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors degree or equivalent; masters degree; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification; Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS) certification.
• Schedule: Day shift, 12-hour shifts, three shifts per week, 36 hours per week, 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with rotating weekends.
• Additional Information: Responsibilities include administering aerosol and oxygen therapy, drawing arterial blood gases, caring for ventilated patients, performing pulmonary function tests and drainage procedures, assisting with bronchoscopies and special procedures, supporting cardiorespiratory rehabilitation, educating patients and families, completing ventilator bundle requirements, monitoring equipment, and maintaining accurate clinical documentation. Rare call may be required.
