Spanish Interpreter

Job Description
You’ll mainly review and check election materials to make sure everything is accurate and error-free in both English and Spanish. This includes proofreading text, verifying codes, formatting, images and audio. You’ll also help test ballot machines to make sure that votes are counted correctly, assist with recording results and complete related paperwork. In addition, you’ll manage documents, update databases, and communicate with team members and clients.
Duties include but are not limited to:* Proof election materials for accuracy including; letter to letter comparison, formatting and punctuation
* Verify that election selection codes accurately display the correct ballot
* Verify that all bitmaps and short names are displayed properly
* Verify that audio is recorded correctly
* Perform ballot tabulation logic testing to ensure ballot counting machines are tallying correctly (internally & for the public) including: checking in, marking, and testing ballots through ballot counting machine, assist in gathering results from tally server, filling out related paperwork
* Type-setting and proofing all election material
* Update workflow database
* Maintain filing system for Voter Information Guide documents
* Communicate with internal and external customers

Duration: 10-90 days (can be shortened or extended)
Examples of Minimum Requirements include but are not limited to:
* Knowledge of proper English and Spanish usage, spelling, grammar, vocabulary, and punctuation in oral and written communication
* Ability to understand, interpret, and translate oral and written information in English and Spanish
* Fluently speak, read, and write in Spanish
* Ability to communicate professionally, clearly, and effectively both orally and written
* Detail oriented
* Ability to follow direction and work independently with some direction
* Basic computer skills with advanced typing speed and accuracy
* Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
* Ability to multitask
* Able to work in a fast-paced environment
* Ability to work long hours
