Your Responsibilities

• Organizes and plans the use of blasting equipment and materials for the various projects
• Ensures that the blasting equipment is properly maintained and in a ready state of operation
• Abrades surfaces of metal or hard-composition objects to remove adhering scale, sand, paint, grease, tar, rust, and dirt, and to impart specified finish using abrasive-blasting equipment
• Examines and measures finished surfaces to ensure conformance to specifications
• Maintains a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions
• Willingness to cross-train and perform the work of other job tasks in addition to the primary assigned position

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to fumes and may at time be required to wear a respirator
• The employee will occasionally work at heights using the correct PPE

What You Bring

• Limited experience
• Must have the ability to follow written or verbal instructions
• Must have knowledge of health and safety requirements including but not limited to fire hazards, compressed gases, electrical, chemical and mechanical devices
• Computer skills: ability to use the computer for time tracking purposes

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
