Hospitalist - MED: Internal Medicine - Sacramento Campus

Job Summary Position: Hospitalist, Internal Medicine – Sacramento (Full Time, Contract) Final Filing Date: 6/30/2025 (Interviews may occur at any time) Salary Range: $9,950 - $22,916.67 per month Appointment Type: Contract Number of Positions: 1 Percentage of Time: 100% Shift Hours: Variable Location: Main Hospital, Sacramento Union Representation: No Benefits Eligible: Yes Responsibilities Act as an attending physician on a non‑teaching inpatient service, on a general medicine teaching service, supervising medical students and residents. Each Hospitalist's standard responsibilities includes a minimum of 182 shifts per year of direct patient care. Night shifts are included in the 182 shifts per year of direct patient care. The group covers 365 night shifts yearly, divided amongst the members of the group. Additionally, the Hospitalist group has a backup system to cover itself with each member assigned a designated number of weeks annually. The incumbent in this position will be required to have a separate appointment on the volunteer clinical faculty, allowing the incumbent to supervise and interact with medical students and residents. Each Hospitalist's standard responsibilities also includes 18 days per year of on‑site administrative time. Administrative time includes monthly CQI meetings, business meetings, grand rounds and other non‑patient care responsibilities. Required Qualifications Must possess an MD/DO license. Must be board eligible or certified in Internal Medicine. Must obtain Board Certification within 2 years of employment. Possession of a valid California medical license and DEA license at the time of appointment. Special Requirements Position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment.
