Job Summary


Our client is seeking a Reimbursement Specialist responsible for managing patient accounts, ensuring the accuracy of billing forms, analyzing charge documents, and handling all necessary adjustments and refunds to maximize reimbursement.


Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for working patient accounts on an hourly basis, including calling insurance companies, working denials, and ensuring timely filing.
• Analyze HCFA 1500 forms and charges to maximize reimbursement from third-party payers.
• Post necessary adjustments, refunds, and collect payments from insurance companies.
• Review claims to ensure compliance with state, federal, and HIPAA rules.
• Fix billing issues to speed up payments and reduce unpaid accounts.
• Verify patient insurance eligibility and process medical codes accurately.
• Manage account adjustments, refunds, and outstanding credits.
• Navigate multiple hospital and billing computer systems confidently.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with medical terminology, billing forms, and health insurance process.
• Strong computer skills.
• Ability to type 45 WPM.
• Medical office or hospital experience.
• 2+ years of experience as a Reimbursement or Billing specialist (preferred).
