Alan Lescht and Associates, P.C. is looking to hire a junior Employment Litigation Attorney with 2-4 years of employment litigation experience or a more seasoned Employment Litigation Attorney with 5+ years of employment litigation experience.

Our attorneys practice in state and federal courts in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia, as well as before federal administrative agencies such as the Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB), the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the Office of Special Counsel, and before arbitration tribunals including American Arbitration Association (AAA) and JAMS. What we are looking for:

• Attorney with (i) 2-4 years or (ii) 5+ years of employment litigation experience with a demonstrated interest in civil rights issues
• Eager to join a dynamic, collaborative, and inclusive team
• Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment
• Capable of independently handling every aspect of plaintiff-side employment litigation and balancing multiple responsibilities at once
• Excellent research and writing skills
• Outstanding communication skills for both teamwork and client-facing duties
• JD from an accredited ABA law school; strong academic background highly valued
• Admitted to practice law in DC, MD, and/or VA

Expectations:

Attorneys are expected to perform a minimum of 35 billable hours per week, which can include up to 3 hours of administrative time for CLEs, mentoring time that is not case-specific, and other opportunities to get involved in management of the firm. Each attorney is responsible for handling multiple cases at once and managing deadlines, both independently and collaboratively with other attorneys and/or support staff.

Compensation, benefits, and opportunities for growth:

• Salary base range for an attorney with 2-4 years of experience: $110,000 – $125,000.
• Salary base range for an attorney with 5+ years of experience: $130,000 – $180,000.
• We offer a competitive salary commensurate with experience and generous benefits, including employer paid health insurance for the employee, a generous vacation policy and 401k pension plan.
• We also boast a flexible, hybrid work-from-home and in-office arrangement. You will be required to work in-office at least one day per week. Once a week, the firm provides lunch to everyone in the office.
