About the Role
The Company is in search of an Executive Director of Facilities Management to lead the strategic and operational aspects of the campus environment. This senior, on-site leadership role is pivotal in ensuring the safety, functionality, and physical development of the campus. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive strategic plans that align with the institution's goals, providing executive leadership to the Facilities Management team, and overseeing multi-million dollar capital projects. Key duties include ensuring regulatory compliance with safety standards, managing complex departmental budgets, and fostering a culture of innovation and sustainability. The role also involves serving as the primary liaison between Facilities Management and other university divisions, and representing the institution in local community relations. Applicants for the Executive Director position at the company should have a minimum of 7-10 years' of progressive leadership experience in facilities management or physical plant operations, with a proven track record in team leadership, capital project management, and strategic planning. The role requires exceptional leadership, communication, and analytical skills, as well as the ability to build and maintain positive relationships across all levels of the organization. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required, with a Master's degree being preferred. The ideal candidate will have professional certifications such as a Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license, and experience in a senior administrative facilities role within a large-scale institutional environment. Proficiency in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and a strong background in budget management and vendor contract negotiation are essential.
