Every day, we strive for excellence through our willingness to adapt, learn, and our tenacity to overcome barriers, together.Opportunity OverviewThe Director of Benefits leads the strategy, design, and administration of the company’s global benefits programs, ensuring they are competitive, compliant, cost-effective, and aligned with the broader Total Rewards philosophy. This role partners closely with HR, Finance, Legal, and business leadership to deliver scalable, high-impact programs that support a growing and geographically diverse workforce. The Director of Benefits is responsible for driving continuous improvement across benefit offerings, vendor relationships, and operational processes, while delivering a seamless, high-quality employee experience and clear, engaging communication at every stage of the employee lifecycle.Responsibilities and DutiesLead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of an organizationally aligned benefits strategy that supports business growth, talent attraction, and retention Oversee end-to-end global benefits programs (health, wellness, retirement, leave, insurance), ensuring scalability across regions Partner with the Exec Director, International HRBP on the design, implementation, and administration, for benefits programs across our international regionPartner with HR, Finance, and leadership to align benefits strategy with workforce and organizational priorities Drive continuous improvement and innovation, leveraging market benchmarking and employee insights to evolve offeringsOversee delivery of responsive, high-quality employee support for benefits inquiries and complex cases Develop and execute clear, engaging communications and education strategies to improve benefit utilization and understandingEnsure compliance with ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA and applicable regulationsLead annual renewals and negotiations, vendor relationships, and RFPs, balancing cost management with competitive program designPartner cross-functionally with HR, Finance, Legal, Procurement, IT, and regional teams to ensure compliance, financial discipline, and seamless program delivery across geographiesPartner with People Ops to ensure seamless administration and service delivery across the employee lifecycleQualifications and SkillsBachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field10+ years of progressive benefits experience with at least 5+ years in the Biopharmaceutical industry Deep knowledge of U.S. benefits regulationsExperience managing global benefits programsStrong financial and analytical skillsExperience with HRIS systems such as ADPThis role is based out of our corporate office in Boston, Massachusetts. Rhythm operates in a hybrid-work model. Candidates applying must be willing and able to be in the Boston office in coordination with their department and business needs. This role may involve some travel.The expected salary range for this position is $182,000 - $275,000. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, level, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and company performance.
