Job Description:

The associate is responsible for the following duties, among others:

• Keeps Deli service areas well stocked and appealing to meet customer demands.

• Smiles and greets customers, answers questions, and resolves concerns promptly in a polite and professional manner.

• Ensures freshness and condition of merchandise in display cases with proper pricing and signs.

• Operates slicing equipment to provide meats and cheeses based on customer preferences.

• Packages items and applies stickers showing price, weight, and date.

• Prepares ready-to-eat foods to individual customer orders.

• Prepares platters of sliced meats, cheeses, and vegetable trays.

• Adheres to company recipes and safety policies when preparing food.

• May operate and be responsible for cash register operations.

• Responsible for general sanitation in the department.

• Assists in inventory control through time and temperature practices.

• May assist with baling cardboard or other related duties if properly trained.

• May assist with receiving, unloading, checking-in, breaking-down, and storing deliveries.

• Ensures smooth function of department and store by cooperating with co-workers and superiors.

• Responsible for utilization of all company provided Personal Protected Equipment (PPE).

• May also be called upon to assist in other departments.

Qualification Requirements:

• Education and/or Experience: Completed or working towards a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). No prior experience required.
