• Steel-toed shoes are required.
• Corning will provide all other required PPE.

Position Summary

We are seeking dependable and detail-oriented Production Workers to support operations in a manufacturing or pilot production environment. This position will perform production, assembly, material handling, inspection, and equipment support activities while following established work instructions, safety procedures, and quality standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate Hegla Galatic automated glass-cutting equipment.
• Cut glass lites to specified sizes for IGU and window production.
• Manually separate individual glass sheets from mother sheets.
• Load glass carts and stage materials for production sequencing.
• Inspect incoming glass and completed IGUs for defects.
• Operate lift-assist equipment to move IGUs weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Place IGUs onto stationary A-frames or production carts.
• Work with Operations Supervisors and Engineering to identify glass defects.
• Report equipment and process issues as needed.
• Build crates for storing and shipping IGUs.
• Stage completed parts for freight pickup.
• Prepare finished products for shipment according to packaging instructions.
• Follow all safety, quality, and production procedures.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Prior manufacturing, production, assembly, warehouse, or industrial experience preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools.
• Ability to safely handle and move glass materials.

Preferred Qualifications

• Technology AAS degree preferred.
• Experience operating production equipment.
• Experience in glass manufacturing or window/IGU production.
• Experience with quality inspection in a manufacturing environment.

Tools & Equipment

• Typical hand tools may be used for minor equipment adjustments or modifications.
• Suction cups are used to move large pieces of flat glass.
• Two-person lifting may be required when handling larger glass pieces.
• Lift-assist equipment is used for moving IGUs.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Lifting is occasional and not expected to be performed continuously or repetitively.
• Ability to stand, walk, and perform production activities throughout the scheduled shift.
• Ability to safely handle large sheets of glass with appropriate assistance and equipment.
