Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a short-term acute care hospital, requiring at least one year of acute care/med-surg experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Short term acute care hospital setting on the Telemetry unit
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM-7:00 PM)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating between units required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active OR Compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum one year of RN experience in acute care or med/surg required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with telemetry remote monitoring and rapid response/code team protocols
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central or PICC line management
• Experience with respiratory care including oxygen administration, nasal cannula, and tracheostomy management
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and wound care
• Two supervisory references covering one year of employment within the last three years required
• Full SSN and DOB required for compliance

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry nursing care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and post cardiac procedure care
• Care for patients with renal, endocrine, and gastrointestinal needs including hemodialysis management and feeding tube care
• May be required to float between sister facilities within the region
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer RTO requests may not be granted
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Scrub color is unrestricted for this unit
• No parking fees at this facility
