Our technologies, products and services deliver distinctive performance features, thus helping to support our Customers' reputations for trusted brands around the globe and in a wide variety of markets.We are seeking an individual who is passionate about joining a team in the manufacturing of high quality laminates and films used in a variety of applications including on cabinetry in kitchen and bath applications, countertops and paneling in recreational vehicles and in the enhancement of interior retail spaces.The Multi-stage Operator is responsible for operating a multi-stage rotogravure press and training and directing the support positions of Second Operator and Production Assistant. The operator will ensure the product meets quality standards and is run efficiently but will troubleshoot any production problems.No direct reports.Key Responsibilities:Follow all safety rulesActively participate in SHE programUse SAP accounting system for all press confirmations and production labelingOperate rotogravure pressOperate ink spec viscosity control systemsOperate registration controlsCamera setup, defect tracking and report outGive direction to Second Operator and Production HelperThread paper/film through pressAdjust bladesGather proper raw materials. Assure and maintain proper raw material levels.Set registerWatch product for defects in webAssist Color Match and QC to ensure the delivery of a quality productTroubleshoot production issuesAdjust press settings based on production runInstall and remove cylindersAdjust ink amounts for proper color matchingComplete log sheetDirect Second Operator and Production Helper to make ready next order materialsInspect rolls of finished product for defectResponsible to make sure press is always cleanOther duties as assignedAvailable to work OT/weekends as neededRequired Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Mechanical KnowledgePass Color TestComputer SkillsGood Communication skillsTeam Leader SkillsComplete Forklift Certification if requiredEducation and Experience:High school diploma or equivalentPhysical Requirements:Must be able to lift 50 pounds as needed.Frequently positions self to use/maintain personal protective equipment.Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Regularly required to stand for extended periods of time; walk; sit; bend; kneel; squat; climb stairs; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and armsComfortable with working in a manufacturing environment alongside machines, equipment, etc.Ability to detect, distinguish, or determine the source of a smellExposure or works around chemical processing, unregulated temperature, dusty conditionsDesired Qualifications:2-year technical degreeOne to three years rotogravure press experienceTravel Requirements:Time spent away from home or typical office location.0% 10% 20% 30% 40% 50% or moreCompany Statement:SURTECO is an Equal Opportunity employer committed to providing equal access to employment.
