Dish Room Attendant (Part-Time)

Job Summary RISD Dining is currently seeking a part-time Dish Room Attendant to join its in‑house dining and catering program. The role supports local farms through seasonally inspired menus and helps deliver exceptional hospitality to the greater community. Clean the dish washing machine, the grease trap, scrap tables, belt, and disposal after each meal period, and sweep and mop dish‑room floors. Clean pots, pans, and other food‑preparation equipment. Assist in prompt removal of empty boxes, packaging materials, and trash containers from the kitchen and sweep and mop kitchen and dining‑room floors when required. Check and restock beverage coolers and convenience items, hook up fountain soda, juice, and CO₂, and clean milk, soda, and juice machines. Required Knowledge / Skills / Experience High school diploma or equivalent combination of experience and education. Valued But Not Required Skills and Experience Previous food‑service experience, especially knowledge of dish‑machine operations and skills to properly clean and sanitize kitchen areas and equipment. Ability to read, write, and follow written instructions. Work Schedule This position will work approximately 25 hours per week. Academic‑year and summer schedules differ and will be discussed with applicants at the time of interview. Dining and catering staff are considered essential personnel and are therefore required to work even when the school is closed. Employment Status Part‑time (approximately 25 hours per week).
