This opening is in Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel Program. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force's sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities, and associated infrastructure.What you will get to do:The selected engineer will be responsible for the following:Conditioned Based Maintenance Plus (CBM+) supporting effort to optimize scheduled maintenance, thereby reducing Lifecycle Cost (LCC)Develop CBM+ architecture and tool developmentConditioned Based Maintenance Plus (CBM+) is an effort to utilize predictive maintenance to align unscheduled maintenance with scheduled maintenance, thereby reducing Lifecycle Cost (LCC).CBM+ capability involves Model-Based Reasoning (MBR) for diagnostic and prognostic capabilities, including Remaining Useful Life (RUL) calculations.Prognostic Models can be one of the following:Physics-Based Model(s)Data-Driven Machine Learning (ML) Model(s)Hybrid Model(s)Embed prognostic and diagnostic capabilities/technologies for the Weapon SystemImplements, supports and maintains a Failure Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) closed loop data reporting system.Tracks all failures of functional equipment parts from date of failure to date of closure in compliance with Customer's closed loop FRACAS requirements.Collects diagnostic data and maintenance repair data on repair/fix actions to improve RAM performance.Analyzes equipment designs and provides Baseline Comparative Systems (BCS) assessments, MIL-HDBK-217, Electronic Predicted Reliability Data (EPRD) and Non-Electronic Predicted Reliability Data (NPRD) Predictions.Develops Reliability Block Diagrams (RBD) to assess Logistic and Mission Reliability requirements.Develops Maintenance Task Analyses (MTAs) to determine component repair times, crew size, support equipment, skill levels and maintenance tasks required to restore a component to an operational condition.Develops Failure Mode, Effects and Criticality Analyses (FMECA) to identify single point failures, safety critical failure modes, fault isolation and detection percentages and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) scheduled maintenance assessments.Identifies Reliability Critical Items (RCIs).Ensures a failure reporting information system through which an historical trend database can be managed. Ensure accuracy and completeness of failure reporting data, the analysis and the root cause corrective action implemented.Compiles and analyzes performance reports and process control statistics; investigates and analyzes relevant variables potentially affecting product and processes.Ensure that failure mode root cause and corrective action (RCCA) measures meet acceptable R&M standards.As necessary, propose changes in design, to improve system and ensure corrective action effectiveness.Develops and presents RAM assessments and lessons learned to the Integrated Product Teams (IPT).Collaborates with the Supplier Management Team (SMT) and suppliers on ensuring all RAM Supplier Data Requirements Lists (SDRL) are comprehensive and align with all technical requirement in their respective Data Item Descriptions (DID).Maintains RAM tasking updates on the RAM Agile Jira Board for each Sprint of the Program Increments (PI).This requisition may be filled at either the Principal Systems Engineer level (level 3) or Sr. Principal Systems Engineer level (level 4).Basic Qualifications:Principal Systems Engineer:Bachelor's degree in STEM and 5 years of experience, 3 years of experience with master's degree, 0 years of experience with PhD.Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 yearsAbility to obtain Special Access within a reasonable period as determined by the business needs of the company.2 years of experience with Prognostic Model Development or Software DevelopmentSr. Principal Systems Engineer:Bachelor's degree in STEM and 8 years of experience, 6 years of experience with master's degree, 4 years of experience with PhD.Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 yearsAbility to obtain TOP SECRET clearance and Special Access within a reasonable period as determined by the business needs of the company.4 years of experience with Prognostic Model Development or Software DevelopmentPreferred Qualifications:Master's degree in business or STEM related disciplineExperience in developing FMECAs, Reliability Block Diagrams (RBDs) and reliability predictionsExperience in developing mission reliability models for subsystems or assembliesExperience with TeamcenterProficient with ReliasoftPrior experience developing software reliability modelsExperience with supplier managementIn depth Aerospace / ICBM experienceKnowledge in design of mechanical and electrical ICBM subsystemsExperience with Prognostic Model DevelopmentAs a full-time employee of Northrop Grumman Space Systems, you are eligible for our robust benefits package including:Medical, Dental & Vision coverage401kEducational AssistanceLife InsuranceEmployee Assistance Programs & Work/Life SolutionsPaid Time OffHealth & Wellness ResourcesEmployee DiscountsThis position's standard work schedule is 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.Primary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00 Secondary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $144,200.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
