Senior Accountant - German GAAP / HGB

Lead Accountant R2R, German-speaking (HGB / German GAAP) Join a leading Scale-Up technology company as they build up the finance and accounting function to support their growth. The company is recruiting a Senior Accountant or Accounting Lead to deliver GL and Record‑to‑Report Accounting for the German HQ as well as working to in‑source and build up the Accounting processes according to HGB and IFRS for international entities. Working closely with key stakeholders in Finance to establish scalable processes and systems for accounting, including supporting the evaluation and selection of accounting systems and automation. Fluent German required! Your role: Financial Accounting according to German GAAP / HGB for R2R / General Ledger areas Preparing Financial Accounts according to HGB/German GAAP and support with preparation of accounts in IFRS for other entity locations Delivering month end / Year end close activities Supporting financial audit and working with Auditors in German and English Liaising with German Steuerberater (Tax Accountants) and Audit teams in local language Help maintain, establish and improve core Accounting processes for GL and R2R areas Support processes across AP, AR, Bank Reconciliations and other areas Recording transactions, posting journals, reconciling accounts across General Ledger Accounting, reconciliation and data cleansing Work on projects to improve and automate accounting processes, e.g. supporting the selection and implementation of new financial systems Your experience: Senior Accountant with 3+ years' experience Strong knowledge of Accounting standards and daily/monthly/yearly accounting according to German GAAP / HGB Experience setting up and improving Accounting and Finance processes Experience with Financial Systems and Accounting automation highly desirable!
