Title: Counter Associate

Reports To: Counter supervisor, or another designated supervisor as assigned.

Role Summary: The Counter Sales Associate is primarily responsible for assisting Summit's customers over the phone or in person and works closely with the Service Center sales staff and warehouse associates to ensure a high level of customer service. Summit offers ongoing training and education opportunities as well as competitive benefits and salary packages. Exceptional service to external and internal customers is critical to the success of a counter associate. Must effectively partner with customer service representatives and warehouse associates as needed to maintain levels of excellence throughout Summit.

Essential Job Functions:

• Meeting and exceeding customer expectations both over the phone and in person when fulfilling orders and helping with products
• Refills inventory with additional stock as necessary to insure highest level of customer satisfaction and choice
• Assists customer service representatives as well as warehouse associates at times when additional assistance is needed to meet customer demand
• Understands product capabilities, warranties, product usages and challenges, to further educate and serve external customer.
• Ensures counter area and other areas of store are neat, clean, and always stocked
• Performs other related duties as assigned and as necessary depending on the location

• Ability to effectively adapt to change and thrive in a stimulating, fast paced environment

• Ability to perform warehouse tasks and work with warehouse equipment, including wire cuts

Beneficial Skills and Experience:

• Experience in the electrical distribution industry
• Previous experience in the Summit Warehouse is preferred.
• Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance

Physical Challenges:

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs on a regular and consistent basis
• Ability to operate standard warehouse equipment
• Ability to climb stairs
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
