Position Overview:

As a Surgical Technician, you will join a dynamic perioperative team dedicated to precision, collaboration, and patient-focused care, all aimed at achieving outstanding surgical results. This role provides avenues for professional development, advanced clinical exposure, and a commitment to safety, innovation, and continuous improvement. In the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR), your responsibilities will include preparing the surgical environment, assisting surgeons and perioperative nurses during procedures, and ensuring that every patient receives safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical care. Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms by organizing surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies for scheduled procedures.
• Maintain a sterile environment within the operating room.
• Work alongside the perioperative registered nurse to deliver individualized, age-appropriate care throughout the surgical process.
• Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to promote safe surgical outcomes.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team regarding instrumentation and equipment during procedures.
• Assist the surgical team during both routine and complex procedures by managing instruments and supplies with precision.
• Monitor the surgical environment to ensure patients' physiological responses remain stable throughout the perioperative experience.
• Support a safe operating room by following established risk reduction practices, including fire prevention and safety protocols related to laser and electrosurgical equipment.
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, registered nurses, and other perioperative team members to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
• Maintain accurate preparation and organization of surgical equipment to facilitate efficient workflow between procedures.
• Engage in departmental education, orientation, competency validation, and quality improvement initiatives to uphold clinical excellence.

Qualifications & Requirements:

To qualify for this Surgical Technician position, you should be dedicated to providing safe, high-quality surgical care through technical expertise and teamwork.

Essential Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Completion of a Surgical Technician program and certification (CST credential through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or another recognized credentialing body) is mandatory.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience as a surgical technician in an operating room setting is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association is necessary.
• Ability to work a schedule of 36 hours per week, primarily during the day shift from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM.
• Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and fulfill on-call requirements as needed.
