Shift LeaderPosition OverviewThe Shift Leader role at Ambrosia QSR is a variable-hour position responsible for overseeing designated shifts to support daily restaurant operations. After certification, Shift Leaders manage assigned time periods, ensuring guest satisfaction, team coordination, and the successful execution of restaurant initiatives. During peak hours, they work at the front of the restaurant, leading the team to provide a high-quality guest experience. Proficient in all team member roles and responsibilities, shift leaders effectively manage operations in the absence of a general manager and responsibilities will vary based on the needs of the specific restaurant.Job ResponsibilitiesTeamTrain and develop staff by implementing established training plans and systems to achieve targeted goalsEnsure that employees take the required breaks and comply with minor work limitations as directedPrevent team members from performing work duties if they exhibit signs of illness or are unfit for dutyPromptly report employee concerns or complaints to the General Manager and Human ResourcesGuestsEnsure every guest has an outstanding dining experience by providing exceptional service and resolving any concern with professionalism and sound judgmentConduct routine walkthroughs of the restaurant, including the parking lot, restrooms, and dining areas, while engaging with guests to enhance their experienceExhibit a strong sense of urgency and a guest-first mindset, consistently promoting excellent customer serviceEffectively manage guest concerns and complaints in the absence of upper management, ensuring prompt and satisfactory resolutionsFoster a safe, inclusive, and respectful work environment by upholding company policies against harassment, discrimination, and retaliation, and promptly report any concerns to the General Manager and Human ResourcesMaintain a professional appearance by wearing a clean uniform and slip-resistant shoesFollow hygiene and food safety protocols, including frequent handwashingPrioritize workplace health and safety by not reporting to work when ill and notifying management promptly if you are unable to work a scheduled shiftOperationsOversee compliance with all food safety regulations and enforce restaurant safety proceduresEnsure staff are properly trained and prepared for promotions & LTOsUse a headset to monitor team interactions with guests, providing praise coaching, or redirection as neededIdentify and troubleshoot basic equipment maintenance issues to ensure smooth operationsMaintain daily food safety compliance and uphold operational standardsCommunicate effectively with the General Manager and other leadership as necessaryDeliver exceptional guest service and support team members by actively working in front-of-house operationsProfitabilityEnsure all food orders, specialty drinks and desserts follow company recipes, brand standards, and are accurately recorded in the POS systemOrganize for shift readiness by positioning team members to meet sales demands while managing waste and prep systems to control costsUtilize equipment, small wares, and products as intended, troubleshoot minor issues, and report malfunctioning or unsafe equipment immediatelyEnforce the proper use of safety equipment by all employees to maintain a secure work environmentFollow company policies and procedures for cash handling to ensure accuracy, security, and compliance with financial guidelinesEducation and Work ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalentServ Safe training & certificatePrior experience with a POS SystemShift control training is conducted at the current restaurant and verified by the General Manager and District ManagerQualifications and SkillsAuthorized to work in the United StatesMust be at least 18 years of ageEnsure compliance with all required training as mandated by local, state, and federal laws, as well as company policies, to maintain operational and regulatory standardsExcellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and supervisorsDedicated to hands-on leadership, focusing on team development and growthBe able to work with, coach, and develop a diverse group of people from different backgrounds and with varying strengthsDemonstrate the core Cultural Foundations of Energy, Engagement, Empathy, and Execution through all interactions with internal and external stakeholdersWork Environment and Physical RequirementsThe work environment is fast-paced, high-energy, and dynamic, requiring the ability to multitask and remain organized under pressure. This role involves frequent interaction with customers, creating a welcoming and efficient dining experience. The restaurant environment includes both indoor and outdoor areas, and you may be required to stand, walk, and move throughout the shift. Safety and cleanliness are top priorities, and all staff members are expected to follow health and safety protocols.
