Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 12 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 3 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, NRP Must-Have: - Experience in Labor and Delivery - Patient Ratio Experience: 2:1 - Charting System Experience: Epic Description: Required to care for laboring patients from 35 weeks of gestation. Provide post-partum and newborn care. Expected to work every third weekend unless specified otherwise. No call is required. Floating may occur within the facility/scope of practice as needed. Unit accepts first-time travelers with a minimum of three years of experience. All compliance is required to start on time. If not compliant in time, there will be a push-back of two weeks due to the orientation schedule. If one major holiday falls during the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work it. If two major holidays fall during the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work both. If three major holidays fall during the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of the holidays. Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s. Must complete core items and labs within specified time after contract signing. All compliance documents must be submitted by the deadline prior to the start date. Modules are non-billable and completed during orientation and vary by specialty. Patient age groups include neonates, adolescents, infants, and adults. Daily census averages six patients with a patient ratio of two per nurse. Expected to provide comprehensive care including teaching and discharge instructions. Utilize skills in antepartum care, assist with delivery and postpartum care. Demonstrate knowledge in high-risk antepartum care, newborn assessment, and breastfeeding support. Must adhere to all safety protocols and maintain patient integrity.
