What You Will Do to Change Lives

The Peer Recovery Coach I engages, inspires, and facilitates meaningful conversations with members served that assist the members to explore, create, and meet their own recovery goals. Peer Recovery Coaches provide consultation to the team to promote and reinforce Telecare’s Recovery Culture as defined by the Telecare Recovery Centered Clinical System (RCCS) in which each member’s point of view and preferences are recognized, understood, respected, and integrated into services and self-help programming. Additionally, Peer Recovery Coaches respond to critical situations with high-level engagement and de-escalation skills which support a least restrictive environment for members served experiencing an emergency related to a mental health/addiction challenge.


Shifts Available:

• AM Shift: Tuesday thru Saturday: 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM

Expected starti ng wage range is $21 - $21.58.

Telecare applies geographic differentials to its pay ranges. The pay range assigned to this role will be based on the geographic location from which the role is performed. Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience above the minimum requirements.

What You Bring to the Table (Must Have)

• High School Diploma or GED required


• Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification through CalMHSA must be obtained within 120 days of your date of hire and maintained throughout employment. Failure to obtain certification within this period will result in separation with the company.

• One (1) year or part-time equivalent of experience supporting members served with behavioral health challenges


• Experience as a beneficiary of the public Behavioral Health system of care


• Valid and current driver’s license, and personal vehicle insurance with your name listed as a driver.

• Willingness to use the company vehicle to drive clients to appointments and groups, etc.

Telecare's mission is to deliver excellent and effective behavioral health services that engage individuals in recovering their health, hopes, and dreams. Western Riverside Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) offers 24/7 Mental Health Urgent Care services to adults 18+. Referrals are made by the RUHS-BH system of care or their designees (e.g., private inpatient psychiatric facilities), Law Enforcement, Emergency Departments, Mobile Crisis Response Teams, Homeless Teams, Substance Use, County Clinics, schools, family, and friends, as well as self-referral and walk-ins. Our 12-chair facility has a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, psychiatric prescribers, nursing staff, and peer specialists. Our services emphasize choice-making skills and harm-reduction techniques. We provide a safe, respectful environment where individuals can receive immediate, individualized assistance and a compassionate presence to stabilize symptoms, avoid the need for higher levels of care, and receive appropriate referrals to community-based resources.


As part of the Telecare family, the Telecare Western Riverside Mental Health Urgent Care will offer 24/7 voluntary treatment to adults ages 18 and above who are suffering a mental health crisis but wish to avoid a locked setting. The program will use a welcoming, home-like environment to help assess the nature of the crisis, soothe and comfort the individual, and connect them with resources to avoid future crisis. Services are recovery-oriented, and will utilize a multi-disciplinary team approach with a high level of peer-to-peer services.
