Amergis Healthcare Staffing is actively seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for a full-time school-based opportunity in Aubrey, Texas. This position is located in a middle school setting and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact working with students who require specialized academic, behavioral, and functional support.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping students achieve success in a structured, supportive learning environment. Bilingual Spanish-speaking candidates are highly encouraged to apply; however, bilingual skills are preferred and not required.

Position Details

• Hours: 40 Hours Per Week

• Moderate-to-significant cognitive impairments

• Developmental delays

• Medium-level medical support needs

• No severe or intensive behavior management responsibilities

• Start Date: Immediate Interviews Available

Compensation

• Local Pay: Up to $40 per hour

• Travel Contract Package: Up to $1,921 per week

• Weekly Pay Every Friday

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a self-contained special education classroom

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs

• Provide academic, life skills, and functional curriculum instruction

• Collaborate with related service providers, administrators, and families

• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation

• Foster a positive, structured, and supportive classroom environment

• Participate in ARD/IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team collaboration

• Promote student independence, communication, and social development

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required

• Texas Special Education Teaching Certification required

• Previous experience working in a self-contained classroom preferred

• Experience supporting students with cognitive disabilities and developmental delays preferred

• Strong classroom management and communication skills

• Bilingual Spanish skills preferred but not required

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university preferred

• Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations

• Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred

• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred

• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred

• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred

• Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred

• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice

• Current CPR if applicable

• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
