Physical Therapists Wanted – Danbury Hospital – Outpatient – PRN Opportunities Summary Physical Therapists provide services that identify, prevent, remediate, and rehabilitate acute or prolonged physical dysfunction or pain. They evaluate and analyze patients and therapeutic applications, physical and chemical agents, exercise, and instruction to patients/families and other procedures to maximize functional independence. Clinical responsibilities may include treatment of pediatric, adult, and mature adult patients, and may be performed in any of the following locations: inpatient, outpatient, and pediatrics. Responsibilities Performs physical therapy evaluations with technical skill and accuracy. Creates and implements physical therapy treatment plans using appropriate interventions, procedures, and equipment as defined by specialty area. Provides patient/family education and training. Participates in peer review and performance improvement activities. Documents care according to department guidelines. Initiates discharge planning. Pursues continuing education: attends 20 hours per year and provides 2 hours of in‑service education to staff per year. Provides full‑time clinical experience to students. Mentors lower‑level staff. Orients, teaches, guides, and evaluates assistive personnel. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position. Performs other duties as assigned. Other Information Required: Must have experience working with patients with neurological conditions. Minimum Experience: One year. Desired: CPR certification. Recent graduates are welcome to apply. Working Conditions Manual: Significant manual skills, motor and finger dexterity. Occupational: Some occupational risk. Physical Effort: Very heavy effort, may exert up to 50 lbs. force.
