Preventative Maintenance Field Service Technician

All Haas machine tools and rotary products are built to deliver high accuracy, repeatability and durability. We are currently seeking an adventurous and diligent Field Service Maintenance Technician. This role will provide exciting opportunities to work for a multifaceted company in a fast‑paced, growing industry. HFO Chicago is a division of Morris Group, Inc., one of the largest machine tool distribution networks in North America. This role does require travel to our customer facilities. We provide a company vehicle and all gas expenses on behalf of the company are paid for. Job Responsibilities The CNC Maintenance Technician needs to have a general mechanical and electrical understanding, to be able to install and maintain CNC equipment. This position reports directly to the Service Manager. Duties include, but are not limited to: Travel to customer sites to install and perform preventative maintenance inspections on machine tool equipment. Company provided vehicle & gas for travel paid for by the company. Use online technical documents, how‑to videos and checklists to provide guidance on all maintenance procedures. Ensure accurate documentation is completed and submitted to office and customer in regard to status of services provided. Receive training in maintenance procedures as part of the on‑boarding process. Prior CNC experience is a plus, but not required. Other Functions Perform related duties as required. Job Qualifications and Proficiencies Demonstrated ability in mechanical or electrical repair and/or maintenance. Ability to read and interpret procedures and how‑to guides. Software experience, like Microsoft Office, is a plus (this position does require the use of a laptop, smartphone and various software applications). Excellent communication skills are a must. The CNC Technician must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job, regularly lifting 40-50 pounds. Reliability is a must. This position requires flexible hours and frequent travel and driving throughout a regional territory. You will be dispatched each day from your home, and then travel to customer’s sites to work. Ability to frequently use hands and arms. Vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to work responsibly and professionally in dynamic job sites that may involve tight timelines, changing priorities, and interaction with customers and team members. Certain positions are designated as safety‑sensitive due to the nature of the work performed. Ability to work in tight spaces or awkward positions, including accessing equipment interiors and elevated areas. Strong hand‑eye coordination and fine motor skills required for precise electrical, mechanical, and diagnostic work. Ability to work in industrial environments, with exposure to noise, lubricants, coolants, metal chips, and other manufacturing conditions, while consistently wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
