Graphic Design Assistant

JUNIOR GRAPHIC DESIGNER / PRODUCT DESIGN ASSISTANT

Roswell / Milton / Alpharetta, GA | On-Site | 10–15+ hours/week | $20–$25/hour Mahjorie is seeking a talented student, recent graduate or emerging designer to work directly with our Founder & Creative Director as we develop our first product collections. This is a hands‑on design and product‑development role focused on translating creative direction, inspiration and existing artwork into polished designs for physical products. Projects may include: Researching museum, library and public‑domain art/design archives for motifs, patterns and illustrations Refining and adapting archival source material into original Mahjorie artwork Building and organizing a digital library of motifs, patterns, colorways and source documentation Developing Pantone color palettes from physical objects, textiles, artwork and digital references Creating and refining vector artwork, patterns, repeats, borders and alternate colorways in Adobe Illustrator Collaborating with our graphic designer and licensed or commissioned artists to adapt artwork into new patterns, colorways, scales and applications Translating artwork across products—from small mahjong tile faces to packaging, tissue paper, playing mats and other products Creating multiple design, color, scale and placement options based on creative direction and feedback Creating product mockups, artwork boards and presentations Working with our graphic designer and manufacturing partners to prepare approved designs for production Reviewing physical prototypes and samples against approved artwork and Pantone colors We’re looking for someone with strong Adobe Illustrator skills, an exceptional eye for color and pattern, excellent attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset. The ideal candidate enjoys taking creative direction, exploring multiple options and refining work through several rounds of development. Students in Graphic Design, Surface/Textile Design, Illustration, Packaging or related fields are encouraged to apply. Some work can be completed remotely, but candidates should be able to work periodically in person in the Milton/Alpharetta area to collaborate and review physical samples, colors and materials.
