Buena Park Host

The host/cashier position will greet customers as they enter the restaurant, gives them menus, and shows them to their seat. They handle phone calls and customer inquiries about the restaurant and menu and assist various restaurant staff when necessary. Cashiers handle all payment processing, including but not limited to cash, credit card and gift card transactions.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESReceive payments and present change to customersFunction as the host/hostess of the restaurantReceive food checks from waiters or customersManage the register, including all credit card and cash operationsEnsure a balance of the register at the end of the shift or working periodKeeps menus clean and ready to present to customersGreat customer service with a smileDispense Gift CardsAnswer phonesClean and organize the counters and shelves with sanitizerRestock and fill toothpicks, business cards, restaurant office supplies, thermal paper, and WindexMake sure the iPod and iPad are chargedChange dirty towels for clean ones every hourWipes down and sanitizes the phone and chargerCleans the money counter with compressed air and wipe with sanitizerThrows away any leftover beverages and foodWipe down all POS, credit card machine and printerRefill napkin holdersClosing the drawerCount cash tipsRecord voids, comps, and discountsCount soda money and write the total on an envelopeCount the registerCount the money bankPlace all receipts in an envelopeBeverage and Chemical inventory sheetTasting logRestroom checklistGather busser, runner, cashier, server, shift leader and manager checklist sheetsEnvelopes for drop money and receiptsEDUCATION & EXPERIENCEHigh School/GED or higher education preferredSuperior skills in interaction with customers preferredPrior cash handling experience preferredSKILLS & ABILITIESThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.The employee is occasionally required to stand; climb or balance; and stoop or kneel.
