AVP, Finance Transformation

Sinclair is seeking an experienced, strategic, and hands-on Assistant Vice President, Finance Transformation to lead initiatives that modernize finance operations, improve business processes, and increase the value delivered by the company’s technology investments.

This role will partner closely with business leaders, department heads, Finance, and IT to identify opportunities to simplify, redesign, and standardize processes. The AVP will help shape practical solutions using Oracle Cloud Fusion, artificial intelligence tools such as ChatGPT, automation, analytics, and other enabling technologies. The ideal candidate combines strong finance and operational judgment with a collaborative approach to change leadership.

This position is On-site at our Hunt Valley, MD headquarters.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the finance transformation agenda, aligning initiatives with Sinclair’s strategic, operational, and financial priorities.
• Partner with business leaders and department heads to assess current processes, identify pain points, and redesign workflows for greater efficiency, control, and service.
• Establish a roadmap for process standardization, automation, systems optimization, and adoption of emerging technologies.
• Work closely with IT to maximize the value, usability, and effectiveness of Oracle Cloud Fusion and related finance tools.
• Identify and prioritize high-value use cases for AI, including generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, to improve analysis, reporting, documentation, workflow execution, and decision support.
• Translate business needs into clear requirements, business cases, process designs, and implementation priorities.
• Lead cross-functional transformation projects from opportunity assessment through implementation, adoption, and benefits realization.
• Develop performance measures to track process efficiency, adoption, service levels, controls, and financial impact.
• Partner with the Technology group to promote strong governance, data quality, internal controls, security, and appropriate use of AI and automation technologies.
• Build change-management plans that prepare teams for new processes and tools, including stakeholder engagement, communications, training, and post-launch support.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on finance operating-model improvements and technology-enabled transformation opportunities.
• Stay current on finance technology, AI capabilities, and leading practices; bring pragmatic recommendations to Sinclair.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Information Systems, or a related field; advanced degree, CPA, CMA, or relevant transformation certification preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in finance, finance operations, transformation, consulting, enterprise systems, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional process redesign or finance transformation initiatives.
• Strong understanding of core finance processes, including planning, reporting, record-to-report, procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, and/or financial controls.
• Experience with Oracle Cloud Fusion or comparable enterprise finance platforms strongly preferred.
• Practical knowledge of automation, analytics, AI, and generative AI applications in a business or finance environment.
• Proven ability to partner effectively with executive leaders, business stakeholders, finance teams, and IT organizations.
• Strong program-management, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to influence without direct authority, manage competing priorities, and drive measurable results in a changing environment.

Success in the Role

Success will be measured by improved process efficiency and effectiveness, increased adoption and value from Oracle Cloud Fusion and other technology investments, stronger business partnership, measurable automation and productivity gains, and sustained improvements in the way Finance supports Sinclair’s business leaders.

The base salary compensation range for this role is $225,000 - $240,000, plus eligibility for a performance based annual bonus. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, and alignment with the company’s strategic objectives. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, 15 paid vacation days, 2 paid personal days, 9 paid holidays, 40 hours of paid sick leave, parental leave, and employee stock purchase plan.
