Job Description

Long term career opportunity for anyone interested in getting into the metal or distribution industry. Very extensive training program tailored to specific responsibilities that the trainee excels at. Looking for dedicated individuals direct experience is not required.

Responsibilities

• Pull and prepare customer orders, including metal sheets and metal bars.
• Receive training and recertification on overhead cranes and side loaders, and cross-training on metal saws, shears, and laser machines.
• Accurately measure, count, and verify materials to ensure order accuracy.
• Load and stage materials for shipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies when handling materials and equipment.

Essential Skills

• Ability to pick, pack, and perform general labor, including heavy lifting.
• Possess a good attitude and light mechanical aptitude.
• Proficiency in using measuring tapes, inventory management, RF scanners, and metal measurement tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to lift and move materials up to 50–75 lbs.
• Comfortable with frequent standing, bending, and repetitive motion.
• Experience working in an industrial or warehouse environment.

Work Environment

Work in a metal distribution and processing facility characterized by a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. You will be exposed to machinery, moving equipment, and metal products. The workplace includes breakrooms equipped with refrigerators, freezers, and microwaves, with water and Gatorade provided on-site.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charlotte, NC.

The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $21.00/hr.
