Mechanical Maintenance Lead – Direct Hire
Field: Seed Production
Location: Tangent, OR

Work Arrangement: Onsite

Position Overview
A seed production facility in Tangent, Oregon is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Lead to support the maintenance department in delivering reliable equipment performance, workplace safety, and high-quality service. This role plays a key part in minimizing downtime and ensuring operational efficiency across processing functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute maintenance tasks within established systems to meet departmental goals and minimize production downtime
• Perform maintenance service work with limited supervision
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure services meet or exceed internal customer needs
• Cross-train across multiple roles to expand technical expertise and support departmental flexibility
• Follow all workplace policies, safety procedures, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Occasionally travel or drive for business-related needs
• Maintain reliable attendance and complete additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• At least one year of experience and/or education in production, mechanical maintenance, facilities, heavy manufacturing, or a related field
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Millwright, electrical, or mechanical certification preferred
• Proficiency in welding, cutting, grinding, and working at heights above 7 feet
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain forklift certification
• Familiarity with HMI interfaces preferred
• Ability to read and fabricate from blueprints preferred
• Experience maintaining mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems preferred
• Basic computer skills, including maintenance software, AutoCAD, Excel, and other Microsoft Office programs preferred
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and training skills preferred
