Registered Nurse OncologyJob Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Oncology Duration: 14 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Virginia license pending accepted Certifications: BLS required, ACLS preferred, ONS certification required Must-Have: - Epic experience - Ability to float as needed Description: The inpatient oncology unit is a 28-bed adult acute care hematology/oncology unit. It also includes a 15-bed intermediate care stem cell transplant unit. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4. Nurses can work either 36 or 48 hours per week. Every other weekend is required. Nurses must work two out of three winter holidays. The unit is recognized by the commission on cancer. The environments feature large private rooms. New nurses have the opportunity to train and gain knowledge in oncology patient care. There is a free-floating charge nurse on both day and night shifts for support. An interdisciplinary team collaborates daily to provide evidence-based and quality-driven care. Additional support services include pharmacy, social services, radiology, and rapid response teams.
