Maintenance Mechanic

This role is ideal for a skilled and dependable Maintenance Mechanic who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical issues, and execute repairs on production equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on a variety of manufacturing equipment to ensure reliable and efficient operation.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues on components such as motors, gauges, pumps, conveyor systems, and material handling equipment.
• Work with some automated equipment, including systems that utilize PLCs and VFDs, to identify and resolve operational issues.
• Execute timely repairs to minimize production downtime and maintain consistent output.
• Inspect equipment regularly to identify potential problems and address them before they impact production.
• Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used to maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Collaborate with production and other maintenance team members to prioritize work and support continuous operations.
• Follow safety procedures and guidelines while working with mechanical and automated equipment.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for mechanical systems, including motors, gauges, pumps, conveyor systems, and material handling equipment.
• Hands-on experience performing preventive maintenance on production machinery.
• Ability to work with some automated equipment, including familiarity with PLCs and VFDs.
• Mechanical aptitude and proficiency with tools and equipment commonly used in industrial maintenance.
• Ability to work mandatory overtime, including weekends, as required by production needs.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining equipment reliability and safety.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience as a Maintenance Technician or in a similar mechanical maintenance role in a food production setting is preferred.
• Experience in mechanical maintenance within a fast-paced manufacturing facility.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and production staff.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple maintenance tasks and priorities.

Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Shafter, CA.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
