Job Description

Pride Health is seeking a qualified and experienced Clinical Dietitian to join a leading healthcare team in Cottonwood, Arizona. The ideal candidate will have experience providing comprehensive nutrition assessment and intervention services across diverse patient populations in an acute care setting and demonstrate strong clinical judgment, interdisciplinary collaboration, and patient education skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments and reassessments for patients across the continuum of care
  • Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans and therapeutic diet recommendations
  • Evaluate nutritional status using laboratory data, physical findings, dietary history, and clinical indicators
  • Monitor and manage patients requiring specialized nutrition support, including enteral nutrition (tube feedings) and total parenteral nutrition (TPN)
  • Provide nutrition counseling and education to patients and families regarding disease management, therapeutic diets, and lifestyle modifications
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, pharmacists, and other interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
  • Assess and manage patients with complex medical conditions including diabetes, kidney disease, heart failure, cancer, malnutrition, gastrointestinal disorders, and critical illness
  • Monitor for food-drug interactions and provide appropriate nutrition recommendations
  • Perform Nutrition Focused Physical Exams (NFPE) and identify nutrient deficiencies and malnutrition
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and uphold patient safety standards
  • Patient Population: Patients across the lifespan including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatric populations in an acute care hospital setting.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Minimum one (1) year of clinical dietitian experience required
  • Experience with nutrition assessments, therapeutic diets, diabetes management, enteral nutrition, and nutrition support
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage a diverse patient caseload

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced practice or specialty certification in diabetes, weight management, or related nutrition specialty
  • Experience in acute care, community hospital, LTAC, or trauma settings
  • Experience with Cerner electronic medical record system
  • Previous travel healthcare experience preferred

Additional Details:

  • Location: Cottonwood, AZ
  • Pay Range: 45.00-55.00
  • Position: Clinical Dietitian
  • Contract Length: 13 Weeks
  • Schedule: Variable Day Shift | 5x8-Hour Shifts
  • Hours: Typically Monday–Friday with occasional Saturdays based on patient census
  • Shift Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Guaranteed Hours: 40 Hours per Week (Facility may call off up to 6 shifts during the assignment)
  • Weekend Requirement: Occasional Saturdays as needed
  • On-Call Requirement: None
