Job Summary

The Forklift Receiver is responsible for safely operating forklifts to move, stack, load, unload, and store cherry and apple products within the warehouse and shipping areas. This position ensures product is accurately transported, properly stored, and prepared for shipment while maintaining food safety, quality, and workplace safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts (including high reach and high stacking) to unload incoming shipments.

• Receive, verify, and document deliveries against purchase orders and packing lists.

• Perform put-away functions by accurately placing products in assigned warehouse locations.

• Retrieve products from storage locations to fulfill shipping orders.

• Load and unload trailers with products.

• Safely transport and store products in high racking locations.

• Ensure shipping orders are completed accurately and on schedule.

• Perform high stacking of pallets while maintaining load stability and accuracy.

• Conduct visual inspections of incoming materials for damage or discrepancies.

• Accurately scan and input inventory into warehouse management systems.

• Maintain clean and organized receiving and storage areas.

• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.

• Communicate effectively with supervisors, inventory teams, and other forklift operators.

• Assist with inventory counts and audits as needed.

Requirements

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Minimum 1-2 years of forklift experience, specifically with:

o High reach forklifts

o High stacking in racking systems

• Valid forklift certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).

• Experience in warehouse, distribution, or production environments preferred.

• Basic computer and inventory system knowledge.

• Prior experience in receiving and inventory control.

Physical & Sensory Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.

• Ability to sit, stand, bend, and twist throughout the shift.

• Comfortable working at elevated heights for extended periods.

• Ability to work in varying warehouse conditions (cold, heat, noise).

Work Environment

• Indoor and outdoor work environments.

• Warehouse or distribution center setting.

• Exposure to moving machinery, forklift traffic, and varying temperatures.

• May require overtime, weekends, or seasonal peak hours.
