After initial screening, additional documentation may be requested.POSITION DESCRIPTION: This position provides support for Adult Education programs.Major Duties:Provides clerical support for program operationsEnters student information into GALISReviews and corrects student dataMaintains filing, record-keeping systems, manuals and other materialsMaintains the confidentiality of records; releases information according to program guidelinesPrepares memoranda, letters, and other correspondences; distributes materials to appropriate partiesProofreads and edits documents for accuracy and consistencyMaintains GED registration records; coordinates GED graduation exercisesReceives, sorts, screens and distributes incoming mailMaintains program supply inventory; reorders as neededCustomer Service:Conducts pre-testing and registration sessionsAnswers telephone, takes messages, make appointments and referralsProvides information, greets and assists to campus visitorsInstruction RelatedAssists instructors with classroom presentationsTutors and assists individual students in the learning environmentPerforms other related dutiesKnowledge Required by the Position:Knowledge of: Office practices, procedures and equipment; Customer service standardsSkills in: Decision making and problem solving; Working with the public; Verbal and written communicationMinimum Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalentSufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for (1-2) yearsThis position is part time.
