Electrophysiology Technologist

The Electrophysiology Technologist performs diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention for cardiovascular procedures. The role involves working under the supervision of a preceptor and/or charge personnel, delivering appropriate patient care, and ensuring the patient's understanding of the procedure performed. The technologist must demonstrate competency in assessing patient conditions, age specific needs, and ensuring successful completion of procedures and protocols.

Key responsibilities include ensuring patient and family education, demonstrating knowledge and use of Bloom stimulator and physician EP protocols, acquiring patient's clinical history, and accurately documenting information. The technologist positions patients and equipment, assesses processed images for technical quality, applies principles of radiation safety, and supports the physician during procedures.

The Electrophysiology Technologist must maintain compliance with Orlando Health policies, demonstrate awareness of department process improvement activities, and participate in staff development in-services and department meetings. A graduate of an accredited school of Radiological Technology (RT) or Cardiovascular Technology (CVT) is required, along with current BLS certification and, depending on the corresponding education, either a valid Florida state license or American registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
