Job Description

Summary: Ensure manufacturing processes run reliably and efficiently, assesses project and resource requirements, and supervises the work of direct reports

• Accountable for production operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
• Maintains standards of health and safety, hygiene, housekeeping and security in the work environment.
• Understands hazardous materials and the proper and safe handling of such ensuring all proper policies and procedures are followed.
• Planning and organizing production schedules
• Estimates, negotiates and agrees to budgets and timescales with vendors and management
• Determines quality control standards by collaborating with quality department and other managers
• Organizes the repair and routine maintenance of production equipment
• Monitors staff performance and progress.
• Makes sound decisions using facts and data that are in the best interest of Malibu.
• Holds all individuals, including him/herself, accountable for delivering results and satisfying internal and external customers.
• Continuously improves production operations using lean enterprise practices.
• Explores options for internal and external activities having impacts on the department and/or business.
• Shows initiative, courage, integrity and bases decisions on what is best for the company, not the individual.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Supervisory skills and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret business documents and data.

• Knowledge of general business computer software and aptitude to learn new software applications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Education and/or Experience:

• Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or seven years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations in English.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, electronic mail, procedures and performance documents, as examples, in English.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to effectively conduct meetings in person and with technology assistance.

Mathematical Skills:

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to utilize data to make business decisions.

Reasoning Ability:

• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Typical 10 hour work days based upon facility.

Typical 4 or 5 day work week schedule based upon facility and schedule loading.

Overtime is occasional to frequent based on a number of factors.

Required to work indoors and outdoors, year round and in all weather conditions.

May be required to work during production shutdowns or other "off-schedule" periods to conduct special activities.

Safety glasses required while in production areas

Other PPE may be required based on specific projects.
