Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Telemetry Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

• Travel experience is required.

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a West Virginia license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• 24 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.

• 24 months gap required between for Travel at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.

Additional Details:

Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.

If candidate worked a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from perm facility.

Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: cumulative experience applies for previous travelers.

References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.

Required Skills/Experience: - Med-Surg experience and critical drips required.

Preferred Skills/Experience: - Chemo experience preferred.

Special Requests: - Block scheduling allowed as long as unit needs are met. Requests are taken into consideration, but a block schedule cannot be promised.

Unit Details: - Cardiopulmonary diagnoses including CHF, chest pain, and post-cardiac cath patients; mostly femoral and some radial. Adult and geriatric population. - RNs titrate drips including Nitro (chest pain indication only), Amiodarone, Lasix, Heparin, and Dopamine (low dose renal perfusion only). - Monitor techs are available 24/7. Charge RNs read strips, and RNs review strips each shift as well. - Traveler may be asked to fill in the charge nurse role; if willing/interested, would be cross-trained. - Equipment used includes IV pumps, sequential compression devices, pulse oximeters, specialty beds, telemetry, CPAP, BiPAP, and oxygen.

Shift & Scheduling: - Every other weekend. Set rotation is either weekends 1 and 3 or weekends 2 and 4. - Holiday rotation with core staff. If they have been there long enough, prior-year holidays worked are considered so the same holidays are not worked as the previous year. Manager will schedule.

Floating Requirements: - If not needed on 4P, would be required to float to 3P or 5P (Med-Surg) units or to the Emergency Department to care for boarded patients. Boarders are intermixed in ED. Float pool floats first, then will be in rotation.

7 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 2 years

1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months

Driver’s license required for submission
