Senior Backend Engineer (f/x/m) Storefront

Location Berlin office with optional remote work across Germany. Employees may work fully remotely or from our Berlin and Erlangen offices as preferred. Overview Thomann.io is advancing its digital strategy in eCommerce. We seek a Senior Backend Engineer (f/x/m) proficient in PHP to build and maintain customer‑facing features across Content Management, Advertising, Customer Relations, promotional product pages, marketing tools and SEO initiatives. Responsibilities Develop, test and deploy new and existing product features. Lead technical solution planning and drive projects to production launch, including landing page enhancements and marketing campaign features. Write automated unit and integration tests using PHPUnit and perform manual testing to ensure quality. Collaborate with stakeholders and engineering teams on business‑critical projects. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of experience as a Backend Engineer working with PHP. Strong grasp of OOP concepts, design patterns and complex database structures. Proficiency with testing frameworks such as PHPUnit. Experience with Symfony is advantageous. Version control with Git and dependency management with Composer. Experience with React is a plus, but not required. Technical Stack Back‑end: PHP 8.4, custom framework following PSR standards. Front‑end: React and TypeScript with Tailwind CSS.
