Overview Expanded Function Dental Assistant – EFDA – Dental Assistant (EFDA Certification In OH Required) Afinia Dental - West Chester is looking for an Expanded Function Dental Assistant to join our team. Responsibilities Organize and maintain lab equipment Take and develop X-rays Provide comprehensive post-operative dental procedures to patients Take and record medical and dental histories and patient vital signs Assist the dentist in managing dental emergencies Support clinical treatment care and maintain the supported dentist’s schedule Adhere to OSHA and company safety policies Continuously improve clinical skills through continuing education and training opportunities Qualifications Positive and outgoing personality with exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills Excellent patient care and strong organizational skills Superior working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology Ability to build rapport with patients Good manual dexterity Computer proficiency and ability to learn new programs Ability to travel at least once every other month for training (occasional overnight) Dental assisting school certificate is a plus Previous experience in a dental practice is a plus Benefits Medical and prescription drug insurance Free dental services for yourself and your dependents (lab fees not included) Vision care support Life insurance 401(k) retirement plan 6 paid holidays per year Team-focused, uplifting and educational work culture Potential for 2 weeks vacation As an Expanded Function Dental Assistant at a Heartland Dental supported office, you will: organize and maintain lab equipment, take and develop X-rays, and provide comprehensive post-operative dental procedures to patients.
