Medical Assistant

Location: Quincy, IL Pay Range: $16.12 - $24.18 per hour | Based on Relevant Experience Schedule: Full-time, Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (some variability based on departmental needs)

About the Role

As a Medical Assistant at Quincy Medical Group, you will support providers in our Endocrinology department, focusing on patients with chronic conditions such as diabetes and hormonal disorders. This role emphasizes patient education, care coordination, and ongoing disease management in an outpatient setting.

Primary Responsibilities

• Escort patients to examination rooms, collect vital signs, and document medical histories.
• Assist providers with routine office visits, including point-of-care testing such as glucose checks and A1C collection.
• Support patient education related to diabetes management, medications, and lifestyle changes.
• Coordinate labs, referrals, and follow-up care.
• Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and equipment.
• Serve as a patient coach, helping patients understand and manage long-term conditions with confidence and consistency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CPR certification required (available upon hire).
• Medical Assistant certification preferred.
• 1–2 years of clinical experience as a CNA, PCA, or MA preferred but not required.
• Interest in chronic disease management and patient education.
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to support patients over time.
