Plattsburgh Animal Hospital is a busy well-established small animal veterinary practice located 75 miles south of Montreal, QC, 26 miles west of Burlington, VT, 45 miles northeast of Lake Placid, NY, home of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics and 135 miles north of Albany, NY. The city of Plattsburgh is a safe community located on beautiful Lake Champlain. To the west of Plattsburgh sits 6.1 million acres of land called the Adirondack Park which contains the famous Adirondack Mountains. Plattsburgh and the surrounding areas are a great place for the outdoor enthusiasts as well as a great place to raise a family. Plattsburgh Animal Hospital is part of a network of 2 privately owned hospitals, including Adirondack Veterinary Hospital located in Westport, NY. Combined the two location have 9 veterinarians. Both the Plattsburgh Animal Hospital location and the Adirondack Veterinary Hospital have been in existence for over 30 years and have become very popular veterinary practices as they continue to look for ways to better serve owners and their pets. The Plattsburgh Animal Hospital location currently consists of 5 veterinarians including a modern state of the art 7000 square foot working environment. Services offered include: being open 7 days a week for pet owner’s convenience, a full in house IDEXX laboratory, after hour’s emergency service, digital x-ray and ultra sound as well as medical, surgical and dental care.
We currently have a wonderful opportunity in Plattsburgh for an experienced or new graduate veterinarian looking to work in a well-established veterinary practice. Candidate will have a team of five other veterinarians looking to share knowledge and skills as well be exposed to numerous cases that will help augment their experience. The position will also require candidate to work 2 full weekends a month. A work week will be 2 to 4 days/week depending on candidate’s preference (FT or PT). Candidate will also be responsible for 1 after hours on call within each five day period. Excellent communication and superb client relations skills are a must. This hospital has a large, well established client base and is looking for a veterinarian with a dependable work ethic and a positive, upbeat demeanor.
