We need someone who can develop strong creative concepts, shape narratives, write and refine scripts, direct talent on set, and help elevate the overall quality and originality of the work.You'll work closely with founders, producers, cinematographers, editors, and motion designers across a wide range of projects including founder-led videos, launch films, commercials, brand campaigns, product storytelling, interviews, and experimental creative work.What You'll DoDevelop creative concepts, narratives, and treatments for video projects across a range of formatsWrite, refine, and support scripts for founder-led videos, commercials, brand films, launch content, and interviewsDirect shoots on set, including talent direction, pacing, performance, framing, and creative executionCollaborate with producers and cinematographers to define the visual and emotional direction of projectsWork closely with editors and motion designers through post-production to ensure creative cohesion and qualityHelp elevate Nen's overall storytelling, creative quality, and directing standardsTranslate abstract ideas into clear, emotionally resonant creative conceptsPush for stronger work while balancing real-world production timelines and constraintsParticipate in creative reviews, brainstorming, scripting, and internal development conversationsAdapt creative approaches depending on the client, audience, platform, and project goalsWhat We're Looking ForStrong directing and storytelling instinctsExcellent taste and understanding of visual storytelling, pacing, and emotional impactExperience directing commercials, brand films, interviews, documentaries, or narrative workStrong scripting, messaging, and narrative development abilityComfortable presenting ideas and communicating directly with founders and clientsAbility to guide non-professional talent and founders on cameraDeep understanding of how cinematography, editing, motion, sound, and pacing work together creativelyComfortable working in a fast-moving production environment with occasional travel and shoot schedulesWhy Join NenBe part of a small, fast-growing creative studio trusted by world-class startups and investorsWork directly with the partners on ambitious, high-impact projects across some of the most interesting companies in techLead and define the strategy practice at Nen, with real ownership over how we approach the work and how the team growsHelp shape the brands, narratives, and stories of the next generation of tech companiesMedical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k), PTO, and company holidaysSalary Range: $70,000-$120,000 depending on experience
