Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room

Location

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | Onsite | Every other weekend required | Holiday coverage required in November/December

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Department and Trauma Center seeing approximately 170–200 patients per day
• Manage a patient assignment of 1:3 acuity-based ratios (up to 1:4 for low acuity), including ER holds within a designated 18-bed holding area
• Care for patients presenting with cardiac, stroke, sepsis, DKA, altered mental status, respiratory distress, abdominal pain, and mental health conditions
• Perform or coordinate nurse/ED Tech blood draws, EKG interpretation support, and collaborate with Respiratory Therapy for ventilator and airway management
• Work within a Fast Track area (6 beds) and a separate triage zone (5 beds); triage assignments may be available following competency validation
• Document and manage care using Epic EMR in coordination with ED physicians, mid-level providers, charge nurses, and house supervisors

Required Qualifications

• Active Washington State RN license or valid Compact RN license
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Room experience in a larger trauma setting
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Current TNCC certification required
• Current PALS or ENPC certification required
• Proficiency with Epic EMR

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a Level I or Level II trauma center environment
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and cardiac strip interpretation
• Experience managing psychiatric patient populations in a secured or seclusion setting
