Fabrication Specialist & Manual Machinist

Location: Windsor, CO

Shift: First, Mon-Fri

Pay: $72,000 - $83,000 annually (DOE)

We're seeking a Fabrication Specialist & Machinist to join our team and play a critical role in supporting manufacturing operations, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement projects.

In this position, you'll use your machining, welding, and fabrication expertise to create custom parts, repair equipment, solve mechanical issues, and support engineering initiatives. • Operate manual machine shop equipment including lathes, mills, drill presses, grinders, and saws
• Design, fabricate, repair, modify, and rebuild custom machine parts, tooling, fixtures, guards, brackets, and other components
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and develop practical fabrication and machining solutions
• Reverse-engineer replacement parts when drawings or specifications are unavailable
• Perform TIG, MIG, and stick welding to support fabrication projects and repairs
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, sketches, and specifications
• Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and indicators to ensure accuracy
• Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, Production, and Quality teams on improvement projects
• Recommend equipment modifications that improve safety, reliability, efficiency, and performance
• Support equipment installations, modifications, and startup activities
• Maintain machine shop tools, materials, and spare parts inventory
• Train team members on proper equipment use and safety practices as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation and records in accordance with company and regulatory requirements
• Keep work areas organized and compliant with 5S and safety standards

• Strong experience with manual machining and fabrication techniques
• Proficiency operating manual lathes, mills, drill presses, grinders, and other machine shop equipment
• Experience with TIG, MIG, and stick welding
• Ability to fabricate, repair, modify, and reverse-engineer parts from drawings, samples, or verbal instructions
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
• Experience using precision measuring instruments, including calipers and micrometers
• Ability to independently assess problems and develop practical solutions
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
• Technical training, apprenticeship, trade school certification, or equivalent experience in machining, fabrication, welding, or toolmaking

• Experience designing or modifying tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing equipment
• CAD experience, including SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar software
• Experience in regulated manufacturing environments such as pharmaceutical, medical device, food production, or aerospace
• Familiarity with FDA, cGMP, or other quality and compliance requirements
• Experience supporting manufacturing, engineering, maintenance, or reliability programs

This position works within a machine shop and manufacturing environment where you'll regularly engage in machining, welding, fabrication, and equipment repair activities. You'll work with a variety of tools and equipment while following established safety procedures and wearing required PPE.

The role involves standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and performing physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, squatting, and climbing. Overtime and occasional weekend support may be required based on business needs.

This is a Permanent position based out of Windsor, CO.

The pay range for this position is $72000.00 - $83200.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
