Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%) As a Team Member, you should be available, flexible, adaptable, and service-oriented, capable of fulfilling the following requirements: Maintain regular and predictable attendance. Work scheduled shifts, including varied hours, days, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed. Support selling initiatives (TEAM): Thank the Customer Engage with the customer and/or pet Advise on products or services Make the experience Memorable Perform a variety of duties during 95% of your day, including but not limited to: Operate cash register/computer following established cash handling procedures Merchandise recovery Participate in freight processing Complete Plan-o-gram procedures (merchandising, sets, resets) Assemble merchandise Perform janitorial duties Execute price changes/markdowns Assist customers with loading purchases Ensure the safety and well-being of live animals, including sanitizing and maintaining holding tanks Complete all related documentation Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications No experience required; retail experience and pet/live animal knowledge are preferred. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required; however, reading, writing, and counting skills are necessary. Preferred Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities Pet/live animal, pet food, and pet product knowledge Strong communication and problem-solving skills Basic computer skills Interpersonal skills and ability to resolve issues ethically and with minimal conflict Working Conditions Indoor environment with moderate noise levels Hard surfaces such as concrete or asphalt; adequate lighting and temperature Shifts generally range from 4 to over 8 hours Promote a safe and productive environment following safety guidelines Physical Requirements Position is non-sedentary; requires movement throughout the store and outdoors Operate equipment safely and efficiently Occasionally lift or reach overhead Stand, kneel, twist, crouch, squat, bend, stoop, and climb ladders frequently Move throughout the store for entire shifts Access all store areas safely Operate store equipment continuously Read, write, and count accurately for documentation Communicate effectively with team and customers Process merchandise through POS system Handle live animals, equipment, and merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds Complete all training and certification requirements Disclaimer This overview is not exhaustive.
