Production Planner

We are currently searching for someone to join our materials and purchasing team as a Production Planner. This position will work within a team and must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment. It will be based in our Chicago, IL office and require office hours Monday through Friday 7:00 am – 3:30 pm. Key Responsibilities Raw Material Management: Ensure timely creation of purchase orders, resolve inventory discrepancies, and maintain raw material availability. Scheduling & Forecasting: Maintain weekly production schedules and adjust quantities based on forecasts and inventory targets. Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of raw materials; perform cycle counts weekly and spot counts as needed. Communication: Coordinate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders such as production supervisors, plant managers, sales team members, and supplier customer service representatives. Initiatives: Provide support for cost‑out projects and review internally for optimization opportunities. Skills High School Diploma Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with suppliers and internal teams. Past experience in buying or scheduling, preferably for a manufacturer. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel. Experience with ERP systems, preferably IQMS. Math proficiency.
