We are looking for high achievers looking to grow and develop their career with us through our technical and professional development programs and diverse career opportunities.ResponsibilitiesAssisting with engineering design tasks for state DOT’s and local agencies’ roadway projects. This includes development of horizontal and vertical geometry, corridor modeling including roadside design, development of open and closed drainage systems, utility coordination, signing and marking, and erosion and sediment control.Preparing plans, cost estimates, reports, and calculations required for client deliverable packages.Interacting with design teams, clients, and project stakeholders.Representing Garver at industry events and in professional organizations.Garver sees our employees as investments in both the company’s and employee’s success. To foster this notion, on the job training is provided to help employees master the skills listed above.RequirementsBachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited programRegistered Engineer in Training (EIT) or Engineer Intern (EI)1-3 years of transportation design experienceFamiliarity with the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) Green Book, the Roadside Design Guide, and the Manual Uniform Traffic Control Device (MUTCD)Good interpersonal skills and a team-first mentalityEffective written and verbal communication skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)Preferred Requirements/SkillsProficiency with Bentley products, particularly OpenRoads DesignerPrevious experience in consulting engineering with a primary focus on transportation projects in TennesseeGrow With UsGarver offers its employees programs such as company-paid professional memberships, company support for industry licenses and continuing education opportunities that foster a progressive atmosphere.
