Controller

Kinsey Interests, Inc. is currently seeking a self-motivated individual who takes pride in their work to join our accounting group as Controller. This is a full-time, in-office, position in Shreveport, Louisiana. Responsibilities Maintain accurate books and records Maintain all intercompany payables/receivables Maintain tickler for all tax filings and payments Review all deposits and disbursements Review internal rebilling and joint owner statements Review journal entries and general ledger reconciliations Prepare and/or review month-end and year-end close process File sales tax, excise tax, ad valorem tax, household payroll and aviation fuel dealer returns Review year-end reporting forms, including 1099s and household W-2s Prepare company budgets and correspond with members Reconcile 1099s to books Recognize accounting issues as they arise and assist in resolving Supervision of staff Assist Chief Financial Officer with the following: Preparation of year-end tax workpapers including depreciation and depletion schedules Review of tax returns Prepare information for quarterly tax estimates Other projects as needed Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting Minimum of 10 years public accounting experience in taxation or a combination of public accounting and corporate/industry accounting experience with a taxation focus Special Knowledge/Skills Ability to work independently with a high degree of accuracy and organization Proficient with Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel Effective communication and people skills Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines Experience using large language models (e.g., ChatGPT or Claude) to improve productivity, automate routine tasks, and enhance analysis is desirable, but not required Understanding of oil and gas accounting preferred Competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications 401(k) with Company safe harbor contribution Health, dental and long-term disability insurance HSA plan with Company contribution #J-18808-Ljbffr
